While the "Our Lakeshore" group does host a site where comments can be made by community members, I don't recall seeing or hearing any of the leaders of this group speaking out against the development. Yet they are considered to represent our community. Seems strange to me. Are they quietly supporting the developer?

This blog was set up by neighbours concerned about development on this site. In the past, there have been proposals for a "monster" home at the water's edge and for a solid wall of four storey units (six semis and one single) that would greatly reduce public views of the lake. This site is partially on green space and lakeside "hazardous lands" and is zoned solely for one detached house or one semi-detached house fronting Lake Shore Drive. Anything other than those options would require a huge amendment to Toronto's Official Plan and zoning by-laws. The community has long been opposed to mega development here and would prefer structure(s) that conform to the zoning requirements now in place and leave the shoreline part of the site available for the long awaited Fourth Street Window on the Lake.
